Round Rock

I am very inspired by the natural world and by the natural shapes and forms in it. One of the most perfect forms of nature is the sphere, an object that holds the greatest amount of volume with the least amount of surface area. A perfect shape with simple and practical economy, the sphere is everywhere around us and in everything inside of us. I use the spherical rock as a focal point in these photos, it represents ourselves and represents the oneness of everything and the perfection of nature. The rock represents perfection, but if you look closely you see the rock is imperfect, it is scarred and pitted. You can see the abuse the rock has received over time, being tossed about by roaring waters and smashed into other rocks, chipping it down. It is the abuse that it has experienced that has given it shape, it is the distress it has endured that has made it perfect.
